You don't have to spend lots of money on high end expensive car component speakers to get good sound quality. You can have the best speakers in the world, but setting them up incorrectly can make them sound just as bad. Most car speakers will produce distortion half way past the volume level on your car headunit. Setting up the high pass filter correctly on your car headunit will allow the stereo to filter out bass frequencies. Car door speakers are not designed to produce deep bass like a subwoofer. If they do, they tend to quickly distort at low volume levels .This is due to the cone not being able to handle the high amount of excursion levels.
1) Find the 'Audio Settings' option on your aftermarket stereo.
2) Select the ''HPF' option.
3) Set it to '80HZ'. This will cut off the bass frequencies below that figure. This will provide more potential to gain a louder and clearer sound at higher volume levels providing more SPL.
4) Save the changes you have made to the settings. Insert a CD of your choice to hear the improvement in your sound system.
