Nokia 6233 Headphone / Headset Symbol Solution Fix

The Nokia 6233 is great mobile phone with very good stereo speakers that produce excellent sound quality. You can also connect an attachable headset and use it to listen to audio playback, transforming it a portable mp3 player. If you see a headphone symbol on your Nokia 6233 screen, without plugging in a headset, the firmware has become corrupted. This can happen if you remove the battery from the mobile phone without switching it off. The other solution could be that the metal contacts at the bottom of the mobile phone have become dirty.

Reinstalling the firmware:

1) Connect your phone to your computer with a USB cable.

2) Make a backup of all important content using Nokia PC suite.

3) Run the Nokia software updater application on you computer. It will then connect onto the internet to find the firmware files.

4) If there is a newer version of firmware available for your Nokia 6233 install it. The other option would be to reinstall the same firmware back onto the phone, if its currently on the latest version.

Cleaning the socket:

1) Hold the power button at the top of the device to switch off the mobile phone.

2) Obtain a cotton bud and dip it into rubbing alcohol.

2) Using the wet side of the cotton bud, gently go over the metal contacts upwards and downwards on each pin.
