You can factory reset your Nokia 5800 using the reset code procedure. It will then be restored to factory setting by default. If you get the message cannot restore factory settings on your Nokia 5800 it is most likely due to following an incorrect procedure. Here is one that is used by many high street mobile phone shops. Please be aware that this will not remove the lock code password inside the software.
There are two main ways that are button less.
Soft Reset (Just takes it back to factory settings)
Enter the following code into your phones keypad *#7780#
Hard Reset (Wipes all the data on the phone completely like out of the box when new)
Enter this instead *#7370#
