Is it safe to bridge a car headunit and will it get damaged?

Ok so you can actually get more power from a car headunit just by bridging but is it actually worth it?Well yes it is because you also save some money because you do not need to buy a external amplifier and wiring kit.The only thing that is a big worry is frying you car radio up.Its heat what damages electrical components and its the same with a car headunit. So if you have a cheap car headunit then its worth taking the risk, but if its a expensive deck like a Pioneer d7 then its not worth it just instead buy a 4 channel amp instead for powering your rear and front speakers and draw a line under it.
You could prevent the car headunit from overheating by place and small cooling fan that blows cool air into the back vent of the radio. You can wire the cooling fan using the 12 volt line from the headunit wiring.Adding a cooling fan will allow the components that produce more output when bridged to cool down and stop them from dieing out.So really you can damage you car headunit due to heat but if you have worked out a simple cooling solution to keep the temperatures down then its fine to bridge your car headunit.
