Well the charging duration all depends on how dead the car battery actually is and how many amps the car battery charger you are going to use to charge a flat car battery up. The more amps the car battery charger is, the more quickly it will charge the dead car battery. Sometimes the car battery can take up to 8 hours to get a full charge depending on how dead the cells are and how weak the battery acid is inside the car battery. On most car battery chargers, there is a switch on the front that lets you control the charging speeds for example: two choices that make the car battery charger charge up the flat car battery faster or slower. Make sure the switch is in the fastest charging position; this will knock off a few hours. When the car battery in my car gets flat during winter, i always make sure that the switch i the car battery charger is set to the fastest charging setting and also top up the car battery with battery water if necessary, as this will optimize the condition of the car battery and reduce charging times.
