What happens with car subwoofers & cold weather?

Cold weather can be harmful and could damage or hurt your car audio subwoofers if its below average temperature.Cold weather can effect bass performance of your subs because the voice coil will be frozen and will more stiff due to the cold weather, making the subwoofer cone harder to move up and down with reduces the bass output.Cold weather can also be bad to the spider of the subwoofer causing the spider to rip apart which results in a big problem or a completely dead subwoofer.Cold weather can't damage your amplifer because when they switch on they will heat up.So learn that cold weather and subwoofers don't mix together. It is best to warm up your subs by playing songs at low volume level. If you want to play loud then its best to do it in warmer weather were temperature's are higher or you are risking a expensive ground pounder
