Most people want to bridge there car amp to gain more power and push there amp to the limits to get maximum rms watts to power either a speaker or subwoofer. When a car amplifier is bridged it gets a heavy strain on the components that are inside from the driver, which causes heat, which then cause's problems with getting good sound quality. It is true that if you amp overheats it will effect the performance as well as sound quality.Heat can damage you car amp if it is bridged and you can't reverse the process again.Check my other blog post out as i explain a simple solution to keep you car amplifier cool.
It also depends on what ohm your car amp is bridged at for example 1, 2 and 4 ohm loads. The lower the ohm load the sound played from your speakers or subwoofers will produce distortion and will become kind on crackly at high volumes. The more higher the ohm load is the more better sound quality you will gain from your drivers that you want to power up using a amp.The only thing is that increasing the ohm load decreases spl which stands for sound pressure level. So you really have a choice between loudness or better sound quality that you have to decide on?
