Charging your device via usb, can make things easier when you are transferring data onto your laptop or computer. Usb charging only works on certain Ericsson models. You can only charge some of the newer Sony Ericsson mobile phones with a usb data cable. The older Sony Ericsson models such as the k750i can't be charged with a usb cable. So if you want to charge your older Sony phone using your computer, you have to buy a different type of cable. A cable with a usb connector and a charging connector, which combined together in one plug connector that you connect to your phone.
