How to fix a PS3 controller that is not charging

If you have notice your PlayStation 3 controller battery no longer charges up, try the solutions below to help fix this problem:

1)Make sure the the mini usb cable that is used to charge the controller is not damaged. Sometimes they can get damaged and obviously not charge up your controller. So the first you should do is, try replacing the charging cable with a another cable. If you have a psp usb cable, you can use that to charge up the ps3 controller because it has the same pin outs, just to make you aware of it.

2)Try charging the controller via a computer using it's usb port. Sometimes the ps3 usb ports can become faulty.

3)When you charge up your ps3 controller, make sure the console is switched on.

4)Plug your charging cable into your controller, wait for the ps3 to configure the controller and then unplug the cable from the ps3 and hold down the PS button, on the pad. Once you have hold the button down, power off the controller and then switch it back on.
