The Nokia n900 has a excellent processor that is extremely quick which is clocked at 600 MHz, although you can make it more faster. I have a Nokia n900 myself and i was trying out different things to improve the speed and stability to make the performance on the device more faster. I found a few tweaks and tips that i want to share with you people, that i noticed made a difference, there just below:
)First thing i suggest you is to overclock the CPU to 1000 MHz. Overclocking bascially makes the n900 run faster. Overclocking can benefit, if you play games and run application at the same time. Making applications open, close and run much faster and increasing frame rates and loading time in games.
)Minimise the amount of application that are running in the background. If you open loads at once and leave them running the background, you slow down the cpu and clog up the ram. So i advice you shut them down, so you free up the ram and save battery life.
)Delete unwanted files that you no longer use.
)From time to time, reset your your phone to factory settings.
)Make sure you always update your n900's firmware to the latest version that is available. Updating can fix bugs found in older firmware versions and increase speed, stability and add new features.
)Remove widgets that you don't use.
