If your car subwoofer is making a popping sound, every time you power on your car amplifier, then below are the possible solutions to fix this issue:
)Your car amplifier gain is proably set to high, so lower it
)One more reason why your car subwoofer pops when turned on, can be because of too much voltage from the remote wire. Using a multimeter check how many volts the remote turn on lead is giving to the car amplifier. If the reading is around about 8-9 volts, it's not the remote wire that causing the popping noise, so move on to solution 3.
)The second reason why it can happen is because the rca lines can have too much voltage, that is unnecessary. If your using a stock head unit and using high and low adapters, then that can cause a overload in rca line voltage. To resolve this, replace your stock car head unit with a aftermarket head unit.
)You have a bad ground for your car amplifier, maybe because there is still paint that has not been scraped off the metal. To resolve this problem, get a screwdriver and remove the paint.
