When you flash a Xbox 360 drive with iXtreme firmware, the benefit you gain is you can play your own burned backups of your own games. This is a great benefit, for example: if you bought a game for £40, you can make of a backup copy of that game onto a dual layer disc in case that £40 game gets scratched, you can simply insert the backup copy you created and still play the game, without having to buy another copy.
