If you have configured the wrong screen resolution on your Xbox 360 for your television, as a result you will get a black screen to be displayed on your TV. To resolve this type of display problem, you will need to reset your Xbox 360's display setting back to default factory settings.
Instructions on how to reset the display settings on your Xbox 360 console:
1)Power on your Xbox 360 console and power on the controller.
2)Once the controller has linked up with the console, hold the right trigger and hold the 'Y' button.
3)Once you have held them buttons, the Xbox 360 will reset the display settings to factory default settings.
