How To Make PSP Games Look Better On A PSP Vita Console

The Sony PSP Vita console is compatible with the first generation of PSP games, which means that you don't have to own a original PSP 1000 console to play them. Since the PSP Vita has no UMD disc drive, you can't play hard copy versions of the original PSP games that are on UMD discs. The only way you can play them is by downloading them directly from PSN and storing them onto the inserted memory card. Thanks to the amazing 5 inch HD OLED screen found on the PSP Vita, even old PSP games look great when played because it up-scales the resolution. The colors are very bright and vibrant, which makes games like Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories really shine. But you may notice that playing original PSP games on your Vita will have very jagged sharp edges to appear onscreen, which makes the games look tacky and outdated. This is why Sony has included a feature in the PSP Vita which allows you to enable 'Bilinear Filtering'. Once enabled, this feature will smooth out the jagged edges, smoothing out the graphics and make games look much better than before.

1) You will need to switch on your PSP Vita. So press down the 'Power Button', found at the top of the PSP Vita console for 3 seconds.

2) Next select a 'PSP Original' game from the menu and using your finger, tap the game to start it.

3) Once the game begins, using your finger, press the middle of the touch screen for 5 seconds. A 'Settings' menu will automatically appear onscreen.

4) You will need to enable 'Bilinear Filtering'. It is the first option from the list of the different settings being displayed and it will have a checklist box beside it. So using you finger, tap inside the checklist box to enable this feature, if enabled you will see a 'Tick' in the box.

5) Quit the 'Settings' menu by tapping the small 'Cross', found in the top left corner to resume back to the gameplay.
