Everybody body has old time favorite PSone games in their games collection. You might have the games, but no PlayStation 1 console to play them on. If you have any of the following PS3 consoles, fat, slim or super slim they are all backwards compatible with PS1 games. This means you don't have to jailbreak or add CFW onto your console to play PlayStation 1 games on it. Sony have always officially included backwards compatibility with PSone games on all three PS3 models. It is the PS2 games backwards compatibility that got removed from the slim & super slim.
1) Press the 'Power' button on your PS3 console to turn it on.
2) If a game disc is currently inserted, press the 'Eject' button to remove it. Grab the game disc from both sides to remove it from the slot and replace it back into its appropriate DVD case.
3) Open the 'Jewel' case of the PS1 game you want to play and remove the disc.
4) Holding the disc from the sides, with the label side facing up, insert it into the 'Disc Slot' found on the front of the console.
4) The PS3 console will now begin to read data from the disc and load up the game automatically. If it doesn't, look for the title of the game under the 'Game' section in the XMB interface menu.
