Molex connectors are used to interconnect computer hardware to the PSU to obtain power. There are two types, male which contain metal pins and female which contain sockets. There are four metal pins in a Molex connector. The yellow wire is 12 volts, black wires are ground and red is 5 volts. Removing the metal pins from a male molex connector can be a tricky procedure. If you remove them incorrectly, you can damage the tangs or rip off the wire from the actual connector. The proper way would be to use the appropriate removal tool. However, if you don't have access to one, you can just about do the same job with a really small ended flat head screwdriver.
1) Get hold of a torch and point it towards the top part of the molex connector. This will help you see the small tangs around the metal pin.
2) Obtain a really small flat head screwdriver. You will be using this to push down the tiny tangs.
3) Insert the screwdriver around the metal pin and using the flat end, push one of the tangs down. Also do this procedure for the renaming two. While doing this, pull the wire that is attached into the metal pin outwards to help release it.
