If you prefer to use your headphones for sound when playing your favorite games you will require to make a connection with the console. With previous generation consoles, you would need to purchase some kind of adapter that will convert the sound into a 3.5mm output socket. Thankfully, Sony have integrated a headphone jack right into the middle section of the controller. This means that you can connect your pair of either any full size or small headphones directly to your ps4 controller without the use of any adapters or special wires.

1) Look at the middle area of the controller. You will see a small headphone socket jack. Connect any pair of headphones of your choice into it.
2) Now that you have made the physical connection, you will need to tell the console to send the audio all the way to your earphones. This is easy to do all you need is to adjust the settings accordingly.
3) Hold down the 'PS' button.
4) Once the menu appears on screen, select the 'Adjust Devices' option.
5) Go down to 'Output To Headphones' and change it from 'Chat Audio' to 'All Audio'. You can also increase or decrease the volume from hear to your desired level.
