If you own a widescreen television, then you can benefit from it with games that support 16:9 resolution. This will give you much more of a thrilling gaming experience especially with racing games and call of duty. To get this to work, you will need to ensure that the game you are wanting to play in widescreen actually supports it. It will say clearly on the back of the game DVD cover if it does or not. All is then left to do is setting up your original Xbox console to play games in widescreen. The process may differ depending on which version of the software dashboard you have.
1) Remove game disc from console.
2) Restart so that it goes onto the green splash screen.
3) Go to 'Settings' and 'Video Mode'.
4) Setup up video mode from 'Normal' to 'Widescreen'
