Can You Use a PS1 Memory Card In a PS2 To Save Game Data, Does it Work?

If you have a spare ps1 memory card lying around your house and you have a ps2 console, but don't have a proper ps2 memory card to use, then you are probably thinking that you can use the ps1 memory card in your ps2 console to save game data from a ps2 game. But i am sorry to say, it won't work to save game data that is from a ps2 game because i have tested it on my own PlayStation 2 slim and fat consoles and it won't allow it to happen. However if a ps1 memory card is inserted into a ps2 memory card slot, you can use it to save game data from a ps1 game though. The ps2 console restricts users to save game data from a p2 game onto a psone memory card because the firmware is different on the chip and even if it worked, you won't have enough room to store ps2 game saves as it has only 1mb for storage, that is too small.
