If you notice that you get crackling heard through your headphones, when you move the plug in the jack it is because there is dirt, lint or grime inside the headphone jack, inside your portable music device. Every music player that has a 3.5mm headphone jack will have loads or little dirt inside it, always. But don't worry, giving it a quick clean will remove dirt, lint or grime and should make the audio sound better, with less interference.
Instructions:
1)Power off the music device you want to clean and if your headphone are connected to it, remove them and place them to a side.
2)Get a cotton swab and remove most of the fluffy cotton from one end, this can be done by pulling it off with your fingers or using a scissors.
3)Now wet the end of the swab with the cotton removed, this is by dipping it into rubbing alcohol.
4)Now softly place the end with rubbing alcohol on the cotton bit, into the headphone jack on the mp3 player device.
5)Move the swab around in circles, when you doing that, the swab is cleaning the metal contacts inside the jack.
6)Remove the swab from the headphone jack and allow the rubbing alcohol inside the headphone jack to dry, leaving the device to dry for 5 minutes.
