If you have changed the display settings to the wrong level by accident or are planning on selling your console to a games shop like cex, its ideal to reset the PS2 console back to factory default settings. This will wipe everything off the internal memory clean like it just was out of the box.
1) Press the 'Eject' button and remove any inserted game disc. Then restart the console.
2) Wait for the console to land onto the famous browser screen.
3) Then using the dualshock 2 controller enter the following 'X', 'Left', 'Right', 'Up', 'Triangle', 'Circle', 'Square'
4) The console will reset itself back to factory settings.
