If you dont want to leave your console on or you don't have one to charge up your PS4 controller, there are alternative ways you can do it. You can charge your ps4 controller without a console, using a standard android usb cable. This cable is used for most phones such as the Samsung, HTC and Sony phones. This can also be used to charge a PlayStation 4 controller using via a mains plugs. All thanks to the clever design, which provides more options to charge your equipment. If it was apple they would probably change the connector on purpose, so you can’t charge it or if you want to buy the mains charger, it would be overpriced around $50 or something. Thats one main thing i like about Sony they always make any of their products user friendly.
1) Plug the USB end of the cable into the mains
adapter plug.
2) Plug the adapter into the mains and switch it
on.
3) Connect the mini usb cable end into the top of
the controller.
4) If your charger and cable is working, the
controller light will be orange this shows its charging.
5) You can now leave your PS4 controller to
charge. It can take around 2-3 hours, but it all depends on how many amps your
USB adapter is and how much charge is left on the battery already.
