The Subaru Impreza wrx or sti is a brilliant car thanks to its 2.0 liter turbo charged engine boxer.The car has a unique rumble sound from the car exhaust system that no other car has or matches thanks to the unequal headers.But there are many people that either want it more louder or more rumbley and want to be heard and turn many more heads as possible by making there car much louder than how it sounds stock.
How can i make my Subaru louder?
1)Changing your stock car exhaust to a performance exhaust system with a aftermarket muffler will sure make a significant difference to your cars sound,looks and speed.There are many different types to compare and to choose and all are different prices,but the most loudest system has to be from Hayward and Scott and turbo back with a stainless steel finish and 4 or 3 inch round tip.This is not the cheapest way to achieve this but it is worth it in the end.
2)Remove the cat from your car exhaust system and replace it with either a decat,downpipe can give you more power and plus its easy to fit yourself but it results in more noise pollution and reduces fuel mpg.If you add a decat pipe you will not pass your mot at your garage because having a straight pipe instead of a cat is totally illegal in most country's. and will not pass smog tests.So if your take your car for a service i suggest removing the decat and replace it with a stock cat before entering it for a mot or else it will fail or not pass.
3)Adding a blow off valve will not make your exhaust any louder any more louder but it will turn more heads.There can be fitted at your garage for not much money.Most people add a blow valve to here the sound effect what are produced when shifting through gears or releasing the foot throttle like psshh.....The best sounding for scoobys boy racers are either brands such as hks,blitz or greedy type s sound wicked!

The simplest (and least expensive) way to get a more awesome sound from your WRX turbo is to simply have the resonator and muffler removed. This does not affect smog as the Cat is still in place. I noteiced a drop in mileage, but recently disconnected my battery leads to reset the ECU and that seems to have improved.
