Is it really worth bridging you car amplfier?

Many people want to bridge there car amp for more power, but on the down side you will certainly lose and reduce the life span of it.You can also void your warranty if its not recommended in the specs. Most people bridge there car amp because they can't afford a higher power amp,so instead bridge it to gain more rms wattage output.Bridging a car amp means in a simple way to push the amp to its limits, which means the more watts the amp has to pump out which only results in overheating and a burn out.So if you do decide to bridge it get some 12 volt dc cooling fans and place then on top of the heat sink system,to keep the amp nice and cool.

If you do have a really expensive and high powered amp and you decide to bridge it such brands like Alpine or Rockford, you can blown it up if its done incorrectly and there goes your money that you spent on it.Well i do certainly think it is worth bridging the channels on a amp because you do get more power for free. But you should find out if you can bridge the amp or not in the user manual as the amp can already be bridged from the manufacture. Also make sure that ohm final load impedance is correct, most amps can bridge into 2 or 1 ohm stable.Make sure that your ohm load is not to low as you can causes some serious damage, check the user guide for more detailed information.Bridging is done at your own risk so you have been warned.
