If your car speaker is making a loud rattling noise, then it is probably because either, the speaker cone or rubber surround has a tear in it. The best thing would be to remove the speaker, that is rattling, from your car, for a further inspection. Examine the car speaker carefully and look for any tears in the cone, or in the rubber surround. If you have located some damage, below are useful instructions on how to repair the damage.
1)Once a speaker has a tear, it will make a rattling noise, although you can seal the tear up, using glue and hopefully remove the rattling noise.
2)If the speaker's rubber surround is torn, using any silicon based glue, seal the tear up. If the speaker cone is made out of plastic, then use a silicon based glue and seal the tear up. Before using your car speaker, leave the silicon to dry out for about 2-3 hours. If you have a paper cone speaker, using sellotape, place tape were the tear is.
3)Once the car speaker has been repaired, insert it back into your car and test it. If your car speaker is still making rattling noises, it shows that it is blown, so you have no choice but to replace it.
