How To Prevent a PS3 From Freezing Because Of Overheating


If your Sony PlayStation 3 gaming console is freezing up constantly, during the use of the console, it is because of your console is producing too much heat and it can't get remove the heat from itself. To prevent your ps3 from overheating, you can apply the following tips:

1)Place your PlayStation 3, in a environment that has a cool temperature. A room with a warm room temperature, will increase the chances of it to overheating and get the yellow lights of death problem.

2)Clean the air vents on the rear and side of the console, will remove all the dust and help increase the amount of air flow. This will reduce overheating, which reduces the chances of it freezing up.

3)If you use your ps3 console for a long period of time, then it is best to buy a external cooling fan, as the cooling that Sony provided in the console may not be that helpful towards keeping the consoles temperature cool, if your using the console for a long period of time.

4)If you console is placed on the carpet, then that could be one reason why your ps3 is freezing up. Instead, remove the console from the carpet and place it on a wooden surface. For example, a table or desk.

1)When your ps3 freezes, power off the ps3 and power it back on.

2)Identify any dirt, dust or scratches on the game disc. If there is dirt, smudges or finger prints on the disc, gently remove them using a lint free cleaning cloth. If the disc is scratched, using toothpaste, try to remove them.

3)Make sure the hard drive has at least 30% of free storage space or more. A cluttered hard drive can also cause this problem to occur, without notice
