A round subwoofer is a subwoofer that is designed as a circle shape. A circle subwoofer usually outputs more sound quality then a large square subwoofer. A round subwoofer is less likely to be louder then a square sub because a circle sub has less surface area than a square subwoofer, if both types are compared against each other and they are the same size. Also another point to make clear is round subwoofers are more popular than square. The reason why is because circle woofers and usually cheaper to buy, then a square shape.
A square subwoofer is louder and has the ability to produce lower bass notes that you can feel. This because it has a larger cone, therefore resulting in more air pressure. So you can feel more bass with a square subwoofer, then a circle shaped. Kicker are the most common brand for manufacturing these type of subs. Square subwoofer are more expensive because it take more engineering to construct the woofer.
Overall, a square subwoofer is better then a circle subwoofer because it has more potential. But if your short of cash, you will be satisfied with a circle subwoofer!
