Square subwoofers vs round subwoofers, which has more bass and which is better?
In car audio there are two different shapes of car subwoofers. A circle car subwoofer is just a good as a square woofer, although a square sub can produce more air pressure because it has more cone surface area. More surface area means the subwoofer can play louder and hit lower and deeper bass notes, then a circle car sub. More air pressure means, the more you can feel the bass notes and more vibrations that will make your trunk flex etc.... A 12 inch square car subwoofer is more louder then a round sub and that is a true fact that will never change.
Having a loud subwoofer is not all down to the subwoofer driver. There are other factors to take onboard that make a sub louder, such as a ported enclosure will be louder then a sealed. The loudness of your subwoofer also depends on how many rms watts your giving to it. The more rms watts your car amplifier produces, the more louder your car subwoofer will be, its simple.
