How To Fix a PSP That Freezes and Shuts Off

If you own a psp console and every time you are during game play the psp freezes and turns off, it is most likely to be caused because of corrupted firmware that's running on your psp. So if your are experiencing this problem on your psp console, then i suggest you update the firmware to the latest version. Some older firmware versions for the psp, had technical bugs that made the psp freezes and shut down. If you are running official firmware on your psp console, you can update the firmware on the psp by going to XMB menu>settings> network update, but only if you have a active Wi-Fi connection. If you have custom firmware on your psp, then go to the developer website who created the custom firmware and check for any latest updates.

If updating the firmware on your psp still has not fixed this problem, if your psp freezes only when you insert a memory stick into the console, then i suggest you remove the memory stick from the psp. Once you have removed it, clean the contacts on the memory stick, using a tissue and reinsert it back into the psp. If your psp console still freezes and shuts down, then format the memory stick.

If cleaning the memory stick doesn't fix the freezing problem, then replace the battery pack. Sometimes the psp will freeze and shut down because the battery pack has a faulty circuit.
