If you like bass and you use Windows media player to play movies and music and you want even more bass for your subwoofer, speakers or earphones, then you can make an adjustment to the customizable graphical equalizer. Tweaking the bass frequencies in the equalizer is the best way to gain great sounding bass, as the bass booster plugin just causes distortion. The reason why i like Windows media player is because it can play low sounding bass all the way down to 31Hz, if you increase the 31Hz slider, even VLC media player can't go that low. If you like loud and boomy bass, then you can increase the 62Hz slider.
To boost the bass in Windows media player, you will need to locate the equalizer. In most versions of Windows media player, the equalizer can be found by selecting the icon found at the top called 'Now playing'. Once you have selected that, a popup menu will be shown; the option that you want to select is called 'Enhancements'. Once you have selected that finally choose the option called 'Graphical equalizer'. Once you have selected it, below the visualization you will see a 10 band eq, just like in the image shown below:
Once you have the equalizer opened up, for a boost in low end deep bass, increase the 31Hz slider to the maximum level and stop increasing it until your hear distortion. If you want loud boomy bass, then increase the 62Hz slider to the maximum level and stop increasing it until your hear distortion. To further enhance the loudness and clarity of bass turn down the mids and highs all the way down, this is so you can't hear treble, which cancels out the bass.
