If you have a Nokia 5310 and three buttons on the left side of the screen lens are not working or are not responding the first time they are pressed, the button ribbon is likely to be damaged. The button ribbon is a cable that has two pieces of metal inside it, when you press the play button for example, the play button will push down the two metals and the button will function. If one of the metals is worn out, the circuit is broken.
So first you will need to buy a replacement keypad ribbon keypad, a image of it is below, so you know what it actually looks like:
Once you have that replacement part, next you will need to disemble the Nokia 5310 and use the video for your guidance, as instructions on how to remove and replace the keypad ribbon cable. You will require a torx 6 screwdriver; this is so you can unscrew the screws holding the housing.
