How To Connect & Install Two Car Amplifiers Together

A car amplifier is used in car audio applications to increase the output wattage speakers produce, as it increase the total output that is delivered to the driver because of an amplification circuit. If you already have a car audio amplifier installed in your car to power a subwoofer and you want to power a set of speakers from a second amplifier, you will need to connect both car amplifiers together, to make the second amplifier power on.

Instructions on how to hook up two car amps:

1)Get a wiring kit for your car amplifier, you want a kit that includes: remote wire, RCA leads, speaker wires, power and ground cables. All theses wires are necessary for a proper amplifier installation. When you are buying a wiring kit for your amplifier, buy a wiring kit that matches the watts your amp puts outs. So if your amplifier is a 1000 watts, then buy a 1000 watts wiring kit.

2)Remove the negative terminal from the negative battery post, found on the car battery. This is to prevent a short circuit to happen if you mess up the wiring.

3)Using a screwdriver unscrew the "Remote Wire", "Ground" and "Positive Wire" terminals found on both car amplifiers.

4)Once you have done that, insert the remote wire into the second amplifier and then insert it into the "Remote Wire" terminal on the first car amplifier. Then screw up the terminals found on both amps, to prevent the remote wire from moving around.

5)Insert the power wire into the "Positive Terminal" found on the second amplifier and then insert it into the "Positive Terminal" on the first amplifier. Then screw up the terminals.

6)Insert the ground wire into "Ground Terminal" found on the second amplifier and then insert the other end of the cable into the "Ground Terminal" found on the first amplifier. Then screw up the terminals.

7)Connect the RCA leads to the RCA outputs on your car head unit. Then connect the other end of the RCA leads into the "Input" RCA sockets found on the second car amplifier. Once you have done that, the second car amplifier can now receive a input signal.

8)Reattach the negative terminal onto the negative terminal on the car battery.
