Solutions On How To Fix a Nokia N95 Black Screen Display Problem

If you own either the original version of the Nokia N95 or the 8GB model, when your turn on the device, do you see a black/blank screen on the start up?

If yes is the answer to that question, the problem is highly likely to occur because of faulty internal hardware. Many users that own a Nokia N95 mobile phone have experienced the black screen problem throughout the years of ownership of the device. It is very frustrating when the problem does occur to one of you because your mobile phone will become unusable.

If you are wondering why the black screen of death happens on your Nokia N95, it is usually because of the ribbon cable that connects the top part to the bottom of the mobile phone is worn out. Each time you slide your mobile phone upwards and downwards, the ribbon flex cable also gets bended in the process. After hard use, overtime the ribbon flex cable eventually becomes ripped or torn. When this happens, you will notice that your mobile phone will no longer function as it should, the keypad is not going to work and the screen will appear dead.

This is what the flex ribbon cable looks like.

1) So replace the flex ribbon cable is your best bet. Make sure it's an original part and not a fake copy from China that has a fake dummy front camera on it. The non genuine ones are poor quality and tend to work for about 3 months. After that the mobile phone screen will play up again.

If it's not the flex ribbon cable, then its the main screen display that has become faulty. Since the Nokia N95 is kinda old, the screens lifespan is likely to be used up. Unless you have accidentally dropped your mobile phone because that can be another cause of a dead screen.

2) Replace the screen display. Again make sure the replacement screen is an original part. From my own experience, fake screens provide poor screen quality and have shorter lifespan. Even though they may seem cheaper in price, they don't work as well!

Watch the videos provided below. It will show you how you can disassemble your Nokia N95, so you can perform the repair yourself.

Since this problem is hardware related, in order to repair your mobile phone, you will need to have the appropriate tools, including a set of Torx head screwdrivers. Also you need to be good at handling small parts and have fiddly fingers.
