When you purchased your PSP vita brand new, the mains charger that came supplied with it will use a USB cable to connect the console to the power brick. You can remove the USB cable from the power brick and use it to connect your PSP vita to either your PC or PS3. So there is no reason to purchase an additional USB cable as an separate accessory, when really you already have one. Whilst connected, your PSP vita will obtain the power from the USB port and charge up the battery pack. The PS button will change from the color blue to orange if charging up successfully.
1) Find a USB port that is available on your computer or PlayStation console. Then connect the USB plug found on the USB cable into a spare USB port on your device.
2) Connect the plug found at the other end of the cable into the bottom of the PSP vita console.
3) Now that you have made the connections between the two devices, power on your computer or PlayStation. The 5 volts created by the USB port will then be supplied to the PSP vita to utilize to charge up the internal battery pack.
