The sim card location on the iphone 3GS mobile phone is located at the top of the device. It uses a sim card tray, which the sim card fits into and slots in the handset. If you are changing your network provider or selling your iphone 3GS, you will require to remove the sim card. When you buy a iphone 3GS brand new, in the box you will find a special key tool. This is used to pop out the sim card tray from the phone. If you don't have this tool, you can still remove the sim card. You will have to use something similar like the end of a paper clip or pin.
1) Power off your iphone 3GS, by holding down the 'Silver Button' at the top.
2) Look at the top of your phone, you will see a 'Small Rectangular' slot in the corner, with a small hole bedside it.
3) Insert the end of the pin into the hole and push it all the way down.
4) The sim card tray will then pop out and remove itself from the slot. If its slightly stuck in, pull it outwards.
4) Tap the sim card tray upside down on your hand to remove it.
