How To Stop Static Noise From Speakers When Moving Mouse

Why Do My Computer Speakers Have Static?

If you have recently noticed that every time you move your mouse that is connected to your computer, you can hear a consistent static noise from your speakers in the background. Usually, it will sound like a hissing or buzzing sound, which can become frustrating during music, video playback or gaming. I have recently experience this problem on my newly built desktop computer. What the technical term used to describe this issue is called electromagnetic interference, also known as 'EMI'. There is no particular way to put a stop to this because every machine is built differently. So you will have to go through the list provided to see which one works for you best in terms of getting rid of it.

1) If its a usb mouse, try plugging it into the front of the computer. This will make it further away from the back of the motherboard where your speakers are connected into. The more far apart both peripherals are the less chances of them cross talking with each other and cause any disruption during your daily activities.

2) Try moving your speakers away from the mouse on your desk. The most common position is to sit them right beside your keyboard in between your monitor screen. Some speakers are not grounded so well and will start to generate static if they are too close to each other.

3) Uninstall current drivers and replace with latest up to date ones. The current version you have running on your operating system may have a noise bug. Perhaps the manufacturer possibly could have released an update to clear the static noise. Check there website to see if there are any available for you to download for free.

4) Your motherboard is not grounding properly with the case. Get inside your PC and tighten all the screws that hold it in place. Loose motherboard screws cause ground problems because the metal inside the casing acts as a ground. If this is the situation, the PCB will not get sufficient conductivity between both parts.

5) Cheap/ Bad On board sound. The built in sound is not the best in terms of performance and sound quality. If you want a cleaner sound delivered to your audio, then consider upgrading to an PCI sound card. This slots directly into the socket in the expansion section at the bottom of your desktop. Consider the creative sound blaster as my most preferred choice if you are on a tight budget. Best bang for buck in my opinion.
