If you own an original Xbox console it is always stuck on the clock screen and it won't boot games, you will need to replace the clock capacitor. This basically allows the console to remember the time and date settings that are stored into the memory. If this becomes bad, then it won't store the settings and will forget them every time. This guide is for v1.6 boards.
1) Unplug all cables from your Xbox console.
2) Open up the console remove all torx screws underneath the rubber tabs.
3) Remove the top cover.
4) You will see the clock capacitor next to three larger ones. You can't miss it because its right opposite the metal copper coil ring.
5) Unsolder this from the board underneath and replace it with the same kind. Its a 2.5 volt 1 F cap.
