How To Remove PSP Metal Silver UMD Circle Ring

You might want to remove and replace the metal PSP silver ring that is placed onto the back of the UMD door. This is because it is prone to getting scratched easily due to the material it is made from. You need to be aware of the correct removal process. Doing it incorrectly will cause you to crack the back plastic. So here is a great article that tells you how with instructions.

1) Power off the PSP console, take the battery out and remove any disc from the UMD drive.

2) Using a heatgun aim it towards the metal ring for about 2 minutes. This will heat up the area and make the glue residue softer and overall easier to change.

3) Get a small flat head screwdriver and pull up the metal ring slowly. Gradually do this all around until the metal ring comes completely off.
