If you have used your PS2 console for a very long time, dust and dirt will get trapped into the air vents. This can cause problems such as overheating and the fan can struggle and not get rid of heat efficiently. You want to clean your dusty PlayStation 2 console as soon as possible to prevent further damage possibly occurring further down the line. These instructions are applied to both bulky and slimline versions.
1) Power off the console.
2) Get a compressed can of air and blast off the dust stuck in the front and back vents.
3) Then using a vacuum to clean up the remains of the dust floating about on the console.
