If you have any new kind of Samsung smartphone phone, it will have a handy 3.5mm jack you can use to connect regular sized headphones or portable speakers to get a better music playback sound quality. Sometimes this can become problematic, it can crackle or the headphone jack itself wont go in all the way. Most of the time its not damaged unless its bended inside or the solder points are broken off. Usually, a quick clean inside will remove all of the dirt that can get clogged up inside from everyday use such as lint from your jeans trousers pocket. To fix the headphone jack on your Samsung Galaxy or note devices all you need is a toothpick and a cotton bud.
1) Turn off the smartphone and if possible remove the battery. Poking and prodding the headphone socket with objects could create a short damaging the audio chip inside the phone.
2) Get your toothpick or something of its equalivent. Insert the object inwards and twiddle it around in a circular form. Keep doing it for a few seconds and pull it out. Tap the end of the phone onto a table or any kind of flat surface to force out what has just been removed out.
3) Now that you have cleaned the dirt. Dip the cotton bud into some water and tap the wet end with a towel.
4) Insert the side that is wet into the headphone socket. Move it around like you have just done with the headphone socket. This will remove any other remains that could cause a bad connection with your earphones plugged into your samsung phone. If cleaning the headphone jack doesn't fix anything, you possibly need to replace the actual part. You should also test out your headphones on a difference device to ensure what exactly is the causing to the problem.
