Subwoofers aren't bad for your car, it depends really on a number of things. It all depends on how much rms power your are running. If your pushing more than 1000 watts and you don't replace your car's alternator you can cause it blow anytime and cause a electrical fire. This is because most factory alternators are not made for loud car audio systems. So you gotta replace the stock alternator with a minimum of 100 amps, just to be on a safe side. Subwoofers can also be bad if your running more then 70000 watts because the subs could shake the car apart, unscrew bolts and smash windows, which is not pleasant. If you have a small subwoofer system below 1000 watts rms, then there is not need to be concerned about your car because its going to be fine.
