How To Take Care Of a Mobile Phone Battery

If you want your mobile phone battery to last longer and not get damaged, then make sure you don't place your mobile phone in a very cold location for a long period of time. Cold weather can damage the cells that are inside the battery, which can make the mobile phone battery leak battery acid. The battery acid can get in contact with your skin and it is harmful to your skin, as it may cause minor burns. Once the battery acid has leaked from the battery, it will no longer work and will need replacing.

A few other tips you should consider if you want to increase the lifespan of the mobile phone battery:

If you are removing the battery from your mobile phone and keeping it in your pocket or in a similar location, make sure the contacts on the battery don't touch anything metal. For example: a metal coin on car keys in your pocket. If they do touch metal, the battery can short circuit and will be damaged.

Keep the battery in a location where the temperature around it is between 60-78 F.

Don't over charge the battery. Check regularly on your mobile phone to identify when the charger has fully charged the battery up. I have seen people that leave a mobile phone to charge overnight and disconnect the charger when they wake up in the morning, which will damage the battery.

Clean the metal contacts on the battery, using a pencil eraser. Clean the metal contacts regularly, will help reduce corrosion to occur onto the battery contacts.

Always keep your mobile phone charged, don't leave a mobile phone in cupboard for 3 years and then charge it up and expect the phone to power on. Leaving you battery stud up for a long period of time can damage it permanently without doubt.
