When you are buying a power supply to power you CB radio at home, you need the correct power supply with the required amps your radio needs to operate, or your CB can fail to power on.
When you are buying a power supply for your CB radio that is pushing out 4 watts standard, then you can use a power supply between 2-12 amps. If your CB radio is high powered, it will require more amps because it has been modified to increase the wattage beyond the standard 4 watts, then you would need to buy a power supply that is 15-20 amps. If you are going to use really high powered radio equipment and a powerful linear amplifier, both running on one power supply, then i recommend to buy a power supply that is a minimum of 40 amps or more for proper operation.
