If you are using your PS2 console to play back up copies of your original games, you will need to remove the front plastic that is attached onto the disc tray. This will then allow you to use a slide card to swap out the discs, using software such as swap magic. You don't have to fully disassemble your console to remove it, so your warranty doesn't get voided. Once you have removed it, you can simply reattach it back onto the disc tray. This only applies for the older bulky style PlayStation 2 consoles, not for the newer slimline models.
1) Press the 'Power/Reset' button, found on the front your console to power it on.
2) Then press the 'Eject' button to open the disc tray.
3) You will see a clip on each side on the front side tray cover, which are used to hold it in place. Insert a 'Flat' head screwdriver into both clips to un clip them out.
4) Then go ahead and remove the front disc tray plastic cover from the disc tray. Now that it is removed, it is now possible to insert your slide tool to play backups!
