If you are experiencing problems with your ipod shuffle you can do a reset and restore it back to factory settings. Use the instructions to help troubleshoot and reset your ipod shuffle without using itunes software. This simple method works on all different generations released by Apple. The only difference is that the off switch will be positioned in a different place.
1) If your ipod shuffle is connected to any computer disconnect it from the USB cable.
2) Locate the switch on the mp3 player and ensure that it is in the off position.
3) Wait 10 seconds. Then reposition the switch to the play or shuffle position for 1st or 3rd generation. If you are resetting a ipod shuffle that is 2nd or 4th generation then slide the power flick-able switch to the on position, so that you can see the green color stripe.
