If you want to connect your headphones to your TV that doesn't have a headphone jack or socket you are limited to what you can do. Since in this the particular case, its not just a simple plug and play type of connection you would traditionally deal with. What you can possibly do is fit a headphone socket into your TV yourself, of course only if it didn't come with one from the factory. This will require some in depth electronic experience and knowledge, as you will need to get inside and perform a modification manually yourself.
1) Power off your TV. Ensure it has been unplugged for 24 hours before performing this operation. This is because the power capacitors mounted onto the PCB can still hold an charge.
2) You will need to remove the back plastic panel off your TV and get access to the internal speaker. So using a screwdriver unscrews all screws.
3) Lift off the back panel and place it down in a location that is out of the way, possibly beside a window or sofa.
4) Look out for the television speakers. You will see them located on each of the left and right sides in between the screen. If you can't see them, you may require a torch of some kind to help you, since many TV's that i have been in and serviced are really dark.
5) Once you have found the speaker, you will notice two wires connecting directly to it, either soldered on or connected with spade terminals. You will need to remove both of these wires and disconnect them permanently.
6) Now get hold of your headphone socket you want to install and solder these two wires directly to it using a soldering iron.
7) Now that you have disconnected one speaker, it doesn't have any connections to provide any audio signal to it. What you need to do is tap into the remaining speakers output and jumper it across to the other speaker you removed wires from. That way sound will still come from it.
8) Drill a hold into the back panel plastic. Using a hot glue gun, place the headphone socket in place and glue it down.
9) Line up the back panel you just removed earlier on and reinsert all screws you just removed.
10) Switch on the telly. Plug in your pair of earphones into the headphone socket in the back you have just installed. Sound should be coming out of it if you have done correctly. You can play around with the equalizer settings in the menu to get better bass or treble range.
