If you have just connected your car amplifier and it turns on, but there is no sound or bass coming from your subwoofer or speakers it can be a number of things causing this particular problem. Here you will find great tips to help contribute towards troubleshooting this particular audio question today. This helped me fix my amp when it turns on but no sound was coming from the subs.
1) Check if the RCA leads are connected properly. They need to be directly connected to the RCA ouput preamps from the wiring harness on the radio into the inputs on your amplifier. Sometimes they can be accidentally connected into the in correct RCA plug that not for audio.
2) Check the different settings on the headunit. The function that control the sound output level for the car amplifier could be turned all the way down by default. Sometimes they have a particular option just for a subwoofer it could be set to 0 for all you know.
3) Check the gain setting on the amp. This is a small adjustable dial that allows you to match the voltage coming down the headunit to the correct level to prevent distortion or clipping. Make sure its not set all the way, don't treat it as a volume control and turn it all the way up though.
