In terms of being a smoker, I would strongly say that e cigs are far more significant in terms of health benefits without question. This is because its not really smoke you are taking in. In fact its just flavored water vapor you are consuming and breathing out. The same kind of steam that is produced when you have just got out of the shower. So technically you're not really burning anything at all like with using cigarettes made from harmful tobacco leaves. Its just pretend and gives you an exact sensation.
But that's only my opinion. There is not enough time yet to actually come to any conclusions on the real health effects since all we have right now is assumptions. I say in another 30 years time we would have strong evidence to suggest whether it has any negative side effects on us.
Think of it this way, at first everybody thought that regular cigs was ok for you and actually provided health associated benefits. You would see them advertised on the television, no health warnings on the packets and people actually having one while being interviewed on live TV. As time went by, research became stronger and made us realize that there are dangerous effects placed on us. From that day on, everything changed and that might be the same answer to vaping, but who knows only time can tell.
