How To Fix Samsung Galaxy S3 Charging Port Not Working

samsung galaxy s3 charging port not working
If you are having problems with the battery charging on your Samsung Galaxy S3 phone, you don't always need to get a replacement part and pay for the repair cost for fixing the port. If the connector is still in good condition from the front in most cases it will just need securing. What we have noticed is there are two screws that push down the connector onto the board. Sometimes these can become loose, when screwed back in tightly it will help make the pins that are soldered onto the board if broken connect which each other. This is due to the force that is clamping the screws down. I have done this on a few Samsung Galaxy S3 phones that have all come in with battery not charging problems, having poor battery life or slow charging. If you have new usb cables and a charger and are still facing problems with the charging port not working, then you please do try out the following.

1) Remove any rubber case that you may have placed on the back of the phone to protect it.

2) Unclip the back plastic battery cover.

3) Look at the bottom exactly where the charging port is, you will see two small screws that are about 1 cm apart from each other at the bottom.

4) Get a small sized Philips screwdriver and tighten them. Don't over do it though because you can strip the shape of screws, which will make it a problem if you need to open the smartphone later on for a repair for example changing the broken screen or housing.
