How to fix a Nokia N95 with a white screen of death problem

The Nokia n95 has also come across the white screen of death problem, as many owners of this device turn on there phone and the screen displays a white screen. But don't worry as much because it is possible to fix it yourself. In this blog post there are some simple solutions that can fix and resolve the white screen problem.

(These solution are for both the Nokia n95 orignal and 8gb versions and have been tested by myself)

1)You can try to update the software version to the latest version using a pc with a internet connection, Nokia software updater and a mini usb cable. Updating your phone's firmware can fix bugs and glitches you see in older firmware versions. But updating your Nokia n95 firmware will not 100% guarantee to make your phone's screen work again, but you can give it a try as it free to update.

2)Hard reset the device is the second solution to solve the white screen of death. What hard resetting does is it sets all the settings back to what Nokia set default from the factory.

3)If you screen has become white because of water damage, remove the top part of the Nokia n95 housing. Once you have done that you will get full access to the LCD screen. Get a small powered hair dryer to dry out any liquid that is still left in the screen. Hopefully doing this will get your screen working again, if this does not work move onto step 4.

4)Replace the LCD screen with a brand new screen.Your LCD screen in your n95 can be damaged so replacing it can fix the white screen issue.Make sure when you get a brand new screen for your device you get a original Nokia screen.Don't buy fake parts just because they are cheaper then the original because fakes are usually made with poor quality and don't last long as original Nokia parts.You can carry out the repair yourself its not hard as you think!

5)Change the ribbon cable that is between the N95's sliding mechanism. If the flex ribbon cable has any tears, it shows clearly that it is broken. A damaged ribbon cable is the most common cause to display a white screen to be displayed, so replace it with a brand new part.
